How long is the ferry from Barcelona to Ibiza?

Last updated: 27 October 2026

The ferry from Barcelona to Ibiza takes roughly 8½ to 9½ hours. Most sailings leave Barcelona in the evening and arrive in Ibiza Town the next morning, so you save a night's accommodation and arrive ready for the beach.

Who sails the route?

Baleària, Trasmed and GNV run the crossing year-round, with up to seven sailings a week in peak season. Ferries arrive at Ibiza Town's port, close to the centre.

Ferry or flight?

The flight takes about an hour, but add airport time and luggage fees. The overnight ferry suits groups with lots of luggage or a car; book a cabin if you want a real night's sleep.
